Carnegie

The Carnegie name is well known, but who was Andrew Carnegie the man? This fabulous little Scotsman arrived in America with nothing and built one of history’s great industrial fortunes.
At his peak, Mr. Carnegie was asked about the future of his empire. Carnegie said, “Take away everything but leave me my men—and I will build it all again.”
Andrew Carnegie knew that people are power and that every person matters. St. Paul said we’re all part of a body that depends on every member.
I’m Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge, grateful for the lives of men like Andrew Carnegie. Grateful for dreams, and people who make them reality. Grateful that we can be part of a body that works together. The master plan for us is to count on one another—in the high calling of our daily work.
The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.
