Mitch became an associate pastor and rose in the church ranks. Steve took the corporate route.
He excelled at work, raised a family, served at church and in his community. Both men invested in lives.
This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge, and I’d like to address a common misconception among believers: Mitch, the pastor, answered no higher calling than Steve, who served God through business. All of us are part of one Body. In common purpose and service, we each live out our place in the high calling of our daily work.
