Coffee Entrepreneur Says Be Careful About Who You Pick as a Business Partner (Video)
Video / Produced by partner of TOWLevi Holland talks about opening Post Coffee Co with fellow believer and business partner Tanner Stevens.
Transcript:
Be careful. A lot of people have a good idea and are like, “We should run with this.” But you really have to think through what you’re doing and what your strengths are. Find a partner to be honest. If I didn’t have Tanner as a partner in this, I would be isolated and lonely and stressed out of my mind. There’s enough stress now just in running a company. [It’s essential] having someone to always bounce ideas off of, to check in with (that’s not my spouse).
You’re doing it in a mutually beneficial way – understanding, “I’m for you. You’re for me. Our families are in this together. We’re committed to doing this together through thick and thin.”
That means we have to have some uncomfortable conversations. Those are some of the best things we ever did when Tanner and I first started this. We’re not the best communicator of our feelings. We both can be very stoic. But it’s like, “Okay, if you have an issue with me, you have to tell me.” Because if you can keep those lines of communication open and clear, then you can move on.
