Sports Illustrated's annual NFL Preview also tackled the topic of quarterbacks. It said, "A good passer can turn losing cultures into winning ones. And part of a team's transformation is the quarterback's ability to get the team to believe in him."
To illustrate, the great quarterback Peyton Manning recalled his first year in the NFL. The team was always getting killed, Manning said. But Coach Mora wouldn't take Manning out. So instead of sitting out the bad times, Manning fought through them. And for the hits he took in the fourth quarters of some lost causes, he believes he gained team respect.
