You Never Know

Donald needed surgery. But if he left, who would run the store? Give orders? Solve problems?
Of course, Donald took his doctors’ warning and took time off. And he returned to work expecting the worst. But what did he find? He found his employees busy at their jobs. Customers happy. Even a crisis or two resolved. “But … how!?”
His assistant looked at him. “Boss, you trained us. You gotta trust us.”
This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. Strong managers should be able to leave the stage. In the good days: train and build trust. When the hard times come: count on that trust … in the high calling of our daily work.
Trustworthy messengers refresh like snow in summer. They revive the spirit of their employer.
(Prov. 25:13)
