Amy Young is a terrific writer who is serving God in China. Her blog, the Messy Middle, is smartly composed, refreshingly original and thought-provoking. Her recent post, Her post, Breath of Life is a great example. It starts out with the beginning of humankind, when God breathed life into Adam, that spark that made us human. And then she is brought us to the sad state of our current world, to the polluted metropolis of Beijing, where breathing is often strained because of man’s “progress,” as evidenced by constricting smoke.
She went to Thailand, to get some fresh air, giving her new perspective on this wonderful, but often forgotten, gift that we call breathing. “Breathe in, breathe out. I barely notice you, breath of life, until something is wrong in body or soul.” Read, Breath of Life.
