A poorly dressed woman walked into a five-star downtown hotel. She saw the front desk and smiled as she walked to the receptionist.
"I need to make a phone call," the woman said. "May I use your phone?" The receptionist said brusquely that her phone had no outside line.
Still smiling, the lady approached a businessman staring at his laptop. "I need to make a phone call," she said. "Could you spare fifty cents?" When he saw who was speaking, the businessman looked away. The woman thanked him pleasantly.
