In storms of crisis, Joe was a haven of calm. When projects went wrong . . . when upper management was out of reach . . . Joe held the course. A team member asked Joe his secret.
He said: "In the Army, I served in a Cavalry Regiment. And we had a saying in the Cav, 'When all else fails, execute the last order you get.' "
This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. Have you ever had a day go haywire? Customers revolt . . . competitors up to tricks . . . colleagues at cross-purposes? Be assured: God is close by. Let others panic and scramble. Offer up a quick prayer. Your job is to do the best you can with the direction you have . . . in the high calling of our daily work.
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. (Heb. 10:36)
