Video: Making Music From Trash

Video / Produced by The High Calling

Certain villagers in Paraguay make a living by recycling and selling garbage from the dump near their homes. It's a soul-less kind of place, but it's not without hope--thanks to the Recycled Orchestra. The Orchestra, comprised of children who live near the landfill, performs classical works on instruments built from the trash which surround their homes.

As Brendan Case of Duke University's Faith and Leadership Institute recently wrote, "The Recycled Orchestra is in the business of turning brokenness into beauty, and beauty into hope. In other words, it is about as clear an enactment of the Gospel as one could ask for."
